Guiding a New Lunchboxer

I recently spoke to a very nice lady named Bette who is looking to help find lunch boxes for her daughter. She's looking primarily for 1970's lunchboxes. I offered her a mint+ Mork and Mindy lunchbox for $225 and her response was. "I'm sick about it, (the price of vintage lunchboxes). She also stated that she didn't realize that lunchboxes were valued this high and wondered how people afford to collect them. This was my response to her email:

Nothing to be sick about Bette. The reason for the high price is because I deal exclusively in high end investment condition boxes. It all depends how your daughter wants to collect. If she doesn't mind rust, rim wear and dents then she can find a lot of these boxes for a fraction of the cost. One guy out in Georgia went for quantity as opposed to quality and he was able to accumulate over 2,000 lunchboxes which you can see on his site at http://www.rivermarketantiques.com/lunchbox.html. Other collectors like myself included will hold out for a mint or near perfect condition box and pay the extra.
